Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Details about surgery?
A1. Loose/ excess skin in your abdomen/ arm is excised. Scar line will extend from one hip bone to another, lying under your lingerie line in abdominoplasty, similar to your cesarean section site just a bit longer. In Brachioplasty, scar line extends from the medial epicondyle to the posterior axillary fold, not visible from the front.
Q2. Can I get pregnant after having a tummy tuck?
A2. Yes, you can undergo the procedure and enjoy the slim figure while u r planning to get pregnant again. Skin stretches at the time of pregnancy and it will continue to do so even after undergoing a tummy tuck. Any revisions that u desire for getting back into shape again can be performed again.
Q3. How many Stitches? Do they have to be removed?
A3. Your skin is sutured back in 3 layers by innumerable stitches. The final layer of stitches will be visible and will be removed at the end of the 15th day.
Q4. Post-op recovery?
A4. You will be admitted for 2 days after surgery. U will have to visit back on the 5th day for a change of dressing and 10th day for stitch removal. You can start your household chores or work from home by 3/4th day. U can start your cardio by 4th week after surgery. Heavy workout in the gym by 8 weeks.
Q5. Side effects?
A5. Infection – antibiotic coverage given, bruising – settles down in 10-14days, hematoma and seroma – drained or aspirated, areas of numbness- recover by 4 to 8 weeks.
